Liberal leader Mark Carney has officially been sworn in as the next prime minister of Canada. With Carney's swearing inflorajogo, Justin Trudeau has officially stepped down from the top post after 10 years as prime minister.
Along with Carney, his new cabinet of ministers have been sworn in with Member of the House of Commons of Canada, former Deputy PM, as the Transport minister.

New Cabinet Sworn InA new Cabinet was also being sworn in. Apart from LeBlanc, Melanie Joly, the incumbent minister of foreign affairs and international development has retained her post. Francois-Philippe Champagne was named as the next minister of finance who holds the government's second most powerful position and Bill Blair was named as minister of national defence.
Kamla Kehra was named as the next health minister, and Dominic LeBlanc, former finance minister, was sworn in as minister of international trade and intergovernmental affairs.

Speaking on the tariffs imposed by Trump, Prime Minister Carney has stated that they are ready to sit down with the Americans and the US government.
"I’m ready to sit down with President Trump at the appropriate time, under a position where there’s respect for Canadian sovereignty and we’re working for a common approachflorajogo, a much more comprehensive approach for trade," said Carney, adding that "Canadian and American workers would be better off when the greatest economic and security partnership in the world is renewed”.
